Andrew O'Laughlin, a third-generation construction business owner, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to every project. A University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) graduate, he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering in just three years, accumulating approximately 36 CEUs annually. During his time at UMKC, Andrew actively led student organizations, including the Design-Build Institute of America and the American Concrete Institute, while also engaging in graduate-level research. Additionally, he holds a B.S. in Agribusiness Management from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
With 15 years of hands-on experience, Andrew has worn many hats including skilled laborer, iron-worker, mason, carpenter, concrete finisher, heavy equipment operator, and concrete plant operator. He spent three years building 5G telecommunications infrastructure and three years managing large-scale energy projects like power plants and substations. Rising quickly to mid-level management at a globally recognized engineering firm. Andrew also has two years in commercial construction management and has led O'Laughlin Construction as a residential and commercial general contractor for the past five years.
Beyond construction, Andrew is passionate about community service. He volunteers regularly with organizations like Uplift Kansas City to feed the homeless, coaches youth sports with Upward Basketball, has participated in a mission trip through SCORE International, supports the Down Syndrome Guild of Kansas City, and is active in Big Brothers Kansas City. Outside of work and volunteering, Andrew enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with his Golden Retriever, Gracie.
